Event description
Join us for an important conversation with Dr. Joëlle Gergis, lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Heritage House, Bangalow.
Dr. Gergis will discuss how climate change is already impacting our region, including the more frequent floods, shifting weather patterns, and intensifying fires. As we mark the five-year anniversary of the Black Summer bushfires and witness the ongoing wildfires in LA, it's clear that climate change is no longer a distant issue. The time to act is now.
The event will focus on community resilience, drawing on the experiences of the Bangalow Country Women’s Association (CWA), who have been vital in supporting our community through the 2022 floods.
This is an opportunity to learn, connect, and take actionable steps towards a more resilient future for our region. Seats are free, but limited—book now! Booking Link: https://events.humanitix.com/climate-change-and-our-regions-future-with-joelle-gergis-hosted-by-bangalow-cwa
